Cinder by Marissa Meyer : Review

In the future, there are robots, rulers, and ALIENS. What an awesome mix. I knew I'd like this book from the second I started it. Even though it's in China, I still imagined everyone to be white.. since I am a white Canadian girl. It happens. I didn't imagine everyone to be Chinese, lol. Especially the Cyborg's. Everyone was white in my mind, haha. Is that racist? I didn't think it was, but uh. Anyways. Back to the review.
I got used to the whole last name first pretty quickly, it was easy. I really hated Pearl and Adri, but I'm sure everyone did. They're awful people and I really wanted Cinder to backhand them a couple times. Especially with her robot hand. Wouldn't that have been awesome? I was literally shaking a couple times there. Lol. I know, I overreact to books. But it happens when you get sucked into one like that.
I know it says that I started reading this on September 7th, and I really did. School started, and the first thing I did was go to the school library. I mean, hey, it's free books. I read the first couple chapters that day, and then I forgot it in my locker. For two months. And I want to say it wasn't totally my fault, that I moved into other people's locker's a couple times, but I really need some extra remembering power. (Anyone got any to spare?) And then I brought it home, and finished it. In like a day. Which is crazy, because that was a big book! That just shows how awesome it was. (;
The character's were awesome. I'm hoping there's another one of these books somewhere. I really want to keep reading. (isn't that the worst) But if that's not possible, I'm sure I can wait. distract myself with other books. It's not like I have a shortage of those things, ugh. If you haven't read it yet I definitely recommend it. Even if you don't like the whole in the future, space and robots kind of scene. READ IT AND LOVE IT. lol :P
Another thing. I was not expecting that ending. Like. At all. I mean, I was kind of thinking about it, but no. Not the full blown thing. So, watch out for that. lol :P

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan : Review

I'd like to thank the publisher for letting me read this via Netgalley.com.
What a cute book. I really didn't know that it was written by the same people that wrote 'Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist' until I looked it up. The whole time I was reading this book, I was like. Huh. This reminds me of that movie. Which I really liked, because Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist is like one of my favorite movies. I really need to read that book though, :P
I know this came out a couple years ago, but I still got it off Netgalley. Which is awesome, because I didn't even know this book existed until I saw it there. I'm glad I got to read it. It's a cute story about a couple book nerds, like me, who found each other through books, and made their boring holidays fun. A couple times through this book, I found myself thinking about what would happen if I did this. But no, this is a fictional thing, and I'm sure it would only work in books. :P Plus. I'm not that desperate, am I? hahah. Lily's kind of a shut in, she doesn't really get into other's business, and she mostly just sits around at home. Dash, on the other hand, goes out all time, from what I learned, and has friends who's business just sucks him in. Which is really what happens to me. I would say that I'm more of a Dash than a Lily, and that's not a bad thing. I know I'm saying this a lot, but they're really cute. I know they're fictional, but I could totally see a couple like them being around my school. I mean, even though there are really only about five people who are really hard core readers, one being me, I could still see it. Maybe if some guys got into books. But anyways, lol. If you haven't read this book already, you definitely should. And, while we're on the topic of cute things, you should really watch Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. And not just because I've got a big movie star crush on Michael Cera. That's an awesome movie, and if the book is anything like the movie, I'm sure I'll love it.

And All the Stars by Andrea K. Host : Review

First of all, I'd like to thank the publisher of this books for allowing me to read this books via Netgalley.
Now, Onto the review.
This book is about aliens. If that wasn't obvious from the second or third chapter, it is now. I wasn't really sure what it was going to be like from the first page, because from the beginning it reminded me of a saw movie.. which isn't always a good thing. I think that the style of this book changed a lot during the duration of this book, and I didn't really like that. It was a good book, sure, but I couldn't really stay all the way into it. One of the things I didn't really like, was how the scene's changed, because it was too quickly. I'd be reading, and then all of the sudden the character would be somewhere else, or talking about some other thing and I'd be totally lost again. And I mean, in what world is that a good thing? I liked the book, But still. There are always some aspects I don't like in every book.
Madeleine was trapped in some kind of cage. I'm not sure how she got out, I think she climbed, or slid, or fell out of something, but she did get out. (That's not a spoiler, is it? :P) She makes some friends, and she falls in love. I DON'T LIKE THE INSTA LOVE IN THIS BOOK. Thought that should be clear. It happens too often, and I don't care who it is, I DON'T LIKE IT. So. Just so you know. (; It was like. bam. crush. bam. making out. bam. sex. and then done. and then back together. IT'S AWFUL.
Overall, It was a good book. I'd reccomend it. And even thought there were some parts I didn't like, there were also parts I really liked. Like the aliens. I haven't read anything like it. Also the powers. They were pretty awesome. And I'd love to be covered in stars. I'm obsessed with Astronomy. Which is awesome, because there were aliens in this, Lol. As if that wasn't obvious. So, I think that you should really check out this book. (:

The New Kid by Temple Matthews : Review

I got an arc copy of this book from netgalley.com. Thanks for that, by the way. (:

Sometimes, moving is a good thing. Especially in Will's situation. What he does requires him to move all the time, and he's not always especially happy about it. To keep the ones he cares about the most alive, though, he has too. And that, makes for the beginning of an awesome book. Just moving in, he knows how everything goes. Tip the contractors, tip the movers, and most of all, tip everyone else involved in the house. Though I'm not really sure how a 16 year old boy could get all that money and figure out how to rebuild his house every time he moves, I didn't really mind that I didn't know every little detail. I just, you know. Wish he was a little bit older, haha. Anyways. He's like, some kind of insane ass-kicking superhero, except not a superhero in the normal terms. He's just really awesome at fighting, and he makes his own weapons. Kind of a younger Bruce Wayne, if you will. WHICH IS SO AWESOME. It's like batman, except in high school. And he fights demons, not crazed murderers. Not that that isn't cool. BECAUSE IT'S AWESOME.

I really liked this book, and I think I'm going to go try and find the next one. I'm sure I saw it on the Netgalley site. I really hope I did. Because that would be the best thing ever. :D I think everyone would like this book, and I'm hoping that this review helps people figure that out! I wasn't sure what it was about before I started reading it, but that's not always a bad thing. I do it all the time. ;D But anyways. CHECK OUT THIS BOOK. Just. Do that one thing for me. :D
