Nyx in the House of Night: Mythology, Folklore and Religion

FINALLY. I'm done this book. Holy, man. It was so boring. I mean, Hey. I learned some things about the series, but I don't really think it was worth all of this.. this torture! First of all, I thought there were going to be more pictures. That's what I assumed when I read a portion of it off the house of night site.. but nope. Plus. Who wants to read a book of essays? Not me. I mean, it's cool if you do but just don't recommend them to me.. God. It's a good thing I don't put down books. I have to read them through and through, no matter how bad they are. And I always let you know how I feel about them. :D
To be honest, It was a good research book, and it was really thorough. I just felt like it was a little like a textbook. I felt like I should be taking notes, and then I should watch a really boring clip about this after. That or, watch some good old Bill Nye the Science Guy. Only about Vampyres. If that makes sense. I don't really know what else to say. I mean, hey. If you like to read textbooks for fun, be my guest. It's just I don't get what all the hype was about this book.. I don't even know what I was expecting, I just wasn't expecting what it actually was. So. Read it if you like, just don't blame me when you're falling asleep after the first couple pages!

And now for some adds. <3

Also, Check out my group! We've got an author of the month for September all set up! :D

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

Holy balls. I'm so glad that this series is here, I was seriously missing the vampire academy books. It might've been weird with Sydney in the books since I don't remember her very well, But that's okay. She's pretty awesome. BUT ADRIAN?! I effing love him. He is seriously my favorite. Like aweh, he's so cute sometimes. Total book crush right here. ;D I don't even care that he's not real. I'd love to have a friend like that. I mean, not saying I would replace any friends of mine with him, But It'd still be pretty cool.
I did not expect that ending. Not just the last couple pages, but I that hole ending. It was insane. I didn't even know what was happening until it was too late. I was seriously like, wait, what just happened?! This book sucked me in from the beginning, and even though I started it after I started my other books, I just knew I had to finish it first. Which is really awesome. That's why if you haven't read this book yet, you have to read it right away. :D
I've hated Sydney's dad from the beginning. Like what a d-bag. WHO DOES THAT!? Obviously not a good dad. I mean, if my dad did that to me, I'd just be pissed at him. Like all the time. Also, I don't really get why they were being so stingy with her. Like hey, come on. She's obviously an awesome alchemist. Also, Who replaces their family with some kid?! I guess her dad does, even though he's totally oblivious to the fact that Keith's a total douche.. lol. I guess same attracts same in this situation, am I right?
There is so much I could say about this book, but unfortunately only this much is spewing out of my brain and into my fingers. Which, might I say, almost never happens. So this is a good thing. :D Now to finish those other books I'm reading. Lol. SO BORING SOMETIMES.. Ugh. whatever. I'm sure they're awesome. (especially the zombie one. ;D)

The Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

First of all, What a weird ending. At first I was like. Aweh, that's cute. But by the last part of it, I was like. Wait. What? Did I read that right? Huh... lol. I really like this series. I actually like it better than the mortal instruments series, as surprising as that sounds. It's just that the mortal instruments series is so dragged out and long, even if it's so awesome I'm still reading it. You get what I mean, right?
I'm still not sure what that clockwork angel is for. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to find out, actually. It's strange. it's like sometimes it's just another hand me down, but sometimes it's a hero all by itself. Also, and this has nothing to do with the book, but I feel really smart with these 3D glasses I'm wearing right now with the lenses popped out.. I don't even know. Just thought I should say that right now.
Did they have camera's in the 1800's? Or whenever this book is supposed to be? I mean, I know it's supposed to be all steampunky and stuff, but I was really surprised at those mechanical bug things with camera's.. I had to ask around and look up if there were even camera's back then that weren't all huge and loud. which is crazy, right? It's fiction. I shouldn't even have to ask that. But still, I had to. lol. So yeah.
I'm serious about liking this series better, by the way. I mean, I can't put the other series down, but I can't put this one down EVEN MORE. If you know what I mean. It's kind of confusing. So I'm just going to leave it at that. :D AND NOW FOR SOME ADDS. Yaaay. Oh, one more thing. WHO WAS THE CLOCKWORK PRINCE?! I don't even know.

Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz

First of all, What an awesome book. It kept me interested the whole time I read it, and I really want to read the rest of the series now. I haven't really read anything like this before, I mean there's always things hunting the vamps, but not like this. I think it's cool how the blood was always the same in the characters, but I didn't really get how it worked. Was it family blood being passed down, or was it just reincarnation into the few families? Were they all the same people, or were they different people that just happened to be in the same family tree? That's what confused me.
The characters were interesting, They really made the story. I was kind of confused about the whole Schuyler's mom and Charles Force thing, but that was explained by the end. Pretty much everything I second guessed at the beginning of the book was resolved at the end. Which is always a good thing. I don't really have that many questions that need answering for this book. Yay!
Err. I don't know what else to say. I marked it five stars, which pretty much makes it awesome even before explaining why. :D Im not sure why humans in the school didn't notice the bright blue on their arms and the way they glow in the dark, I'd think that would be something I'd notice right away.. but that's alright. They probably just thought they were seeing things or something... But other than that there wasn't anything I didn't like about this book. It was awesome. :D You should definitely read it if you haven't already. :P Aaaaaand now for some adds. <3

Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan

Ugh. This book would've been better if there wasn't so much god in it.. no offense. I'm just not into the whole god thing. Seriously though, I would have liked it way better. Even though I get that it's 'part of the story' and blah blah blah. I don't care. Crazy people are Crazy people, whether 'God' is involved or not. Who cares. Why can't there just be a shit full of psycho people instead of a ship full of churchies.. What's wrong with crazy people?
I like how everything was in space though, Mostly because I'm really interested in that sort of stuff. IT'S THE MOST INTERESTING THING IN THE WORLD. Like the most interesting man in the world? ahhh. Lame. lol. :P
Why did she have to get shot so many times. It was weird. Who just gets shot all the time like that. And who heals that quickly? That's crazy. Two gunshot wounds, and some surgery slices all healed in like two weeks. Well it was probably like a month, but still. WHO HEALS THAT QUICKLY?! Crazy shit.
Ugh. That guy, Kieran? Is that what it was? I don't even know. His side of the story was SO BORING. That's just my opinion. I mean, hey. This book had it's good parts. Like, Waverly's whole story in this. I just didn't like that boy's side. I would've much rather had Seth be those parts instead. It was seriously so boring I just skimmed it. Again, No offense.
Now that you know my opinion, I can stop complaining about this book. You'll like that. Overall, it was a good book. I mean, hey. I bought it at wal-mart. It couldn't have been that bad if it was at wal-mart, right? lol. All the good books go there eventually. Read this if you like. I'm sure there are tons of people out there who loved it, it just wasn't really for me. I'll probably read the rest of the series, just because I'm OCD like that. ;D

Nightshade by Andrea Cremer: Review

DAMN YOU SLOW KOBO. You made this book boring for me. I mean, it was good, but I couldn't pay attention very well. Because there was a five minute delay between page turns.... Which was so annoying. I'm sure the book was really good. It just made me mad. Not the books fault. Damn short attention span. lol.
I'm not a big fan of when books just jump into the story. It felt like I should have known all the characters before hand, and it was kind of annoying. I don't like that. I like to get to know the people in the book while I'm reading, it helps me get into the story a little more. I mean, I still got to know the characters, just not as well as I could have. If that makes sense.
I liked the arranged marriage kind of thing she had going there, I haven't read something like that before even though it makes sense. Marriage equals power, right? As soon as Ansel said that he would've turned Shay and ran away with him, I knew that was going to happen. It makes sense. Why else would he say that? So there's that.. I don't really know what was happening half the time.. somethings just didn't click for me I guess. I don't really know what else to say here. It was good, but there were things I didn't like. All books are like that though. I mean, hey. There isn't a perfect book out there, right? So. I'm hoping the next one is better and I can get into it more.

The Princess Bride by William Goldman

I have to say, I was surprised at how much the book was like the movie. I mean sure, some of the talking was cut out, but most of it the same. I'm glad I read this, because I've seen the movie like six hundred times and I didn't even know this was a book for so long. I don't really know what to say about it. It's awesome. That's why I've seen the movie so many times. Because it's awesome. They were all there, and when I was reading it it was like I was watching the movie again. That's how similar it was. It was kind of written funny though, constantly switching from the story to the guy and the kid talking about the story, and it messed me up a bit at the beginning. But still awesome. I definitely recommend it for people who liked the movie. And I know it's a bit old, (1987) but it's still awesome. <3

I think that's all I'm going to say, so here's some adds for you. :D

Hereafter by Tara Hudson: Review

First of all, I really like this cover. It's awesome. And the colours? I just want to dye my hair like that so bad. Also, What a cute ending. I mean, hey, It was cheesy, but that's good sometimes. We all need a cheesy ending to an awesome book sometimes, right?
I have to admit, there was a little part of me that was hoping she would get exorcised. I mean, I know there's another book, but still. I bet it would've been cool. And scary. AT THE SAME TIME.
I'm not really a big fan of the whole amnesia thing, but it fit for this book. It made it better. But ugh. Really? A stalker? And how long was I supposed to believe that she was just going to walk around forever? It was boring. And I really didn't want to read about all of her thoughts. Joshua was a good match for her, even though he wasn't on the same side as her... they usually aren't. It's in  almost every book so, it's predictable. But that was okay!
Err. I don't know what to say. Can I just say it was awesome and that's it? I was caught up in the story ever since the first page. And I'm sure you will be too. Let's just leave it at that. :D

Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton: Review

Gahh. What a dumb ending. I don't like when movies and books do that.. it's just so.. cheesy... I can't stand it! But other than that, it was good. I don't really like the whole 'I've been waiting for you for blahblahblah years...<3' it's kind of stalker-ish and creepy... But whatever. Keep your apparently super hot angel boyfriend. Who cares if your love is forbidden. It's predictable... But if you want to still do it, whatever. Everyone else does it.
I haven't really read than many angel books, mostly because I can't find very many of them, and also a little bit because I'm an athiest.. I'm not really big on the whole god thing. But angel's are cool I guess, with their weird powers. Just don't really like all the biblical references and such. You get what I mean? But nonetheless, It was good.
I was hoping the circle from the beginning wasn't going to be quite so obvious, with her driving and her dad and such, but that's alright. Honestly I think that the book should have ended when she went back to the words her teacher said.. The rest of it was kind of.. excessive. And I hope I'm not the only one who thought that. Like who cares if she gets grounded? She's just going to sneak out like every other teenage girl. But that's cool too. Just add extra pages I guess. A whole extra chapter. That's alright.
I hope you get what I mean by this review. It's a good book. All the angel books I've read are them fighting the devil, but that's to be expected, right? It's good vs. evil. It's always going to be like that. So. Read if you want, I'm not saying it was bad. Just... Predictable. They always forget, they always reincarnate, and they always fall in love with the wrong person. Other than that, it was different than the others. Which trust me, is a good thing. So Have fun with this one!
