Wings by Aprillyne Pike: Review

This book was... Different.
I think that's a good word to explain it.
Though well written, I didn't really get the point..
I mean. Hey. She's different.
Like every single other main character.
Sure, She's a fairy.
That's cool,
And okay. She blossoms.
But what did that blossom even do for her,
Besides create an awkward situation that I'm surprised no one noticed?
I mean. If you had a flower growing out of your back,
Wouldn't someone notice?
I thought she would look like a hunch back with it all tied down.
But hey.
It was different.
And thats all that matters, right?

So..
There's this girl.
And she's really tiny.
She doesn't bleed,
And she's really confused.
So she starts public school.
Meets this guy,
Makes some friends,
And figures out herself.
Most things like this happen in a typical young adult book.
UNTIL A FLOWER GROWS OUT OF HER BACK.
Which is crazy.
hah.
I don't even get what that was for.

I knew this book was about fairies from the second I picked it up.
Just looking at the cover I knew.
I didn't even have to read the back.
So, Since May is Fairy month, I decided to read it.
Well.
That and it was laying around my computer forever. hah.

I didn't really know what to expect picking this up
I mean.
I haven't really read that many books about fairies,
So I didn't know.. what to expect. haha.
Hurray for repeating myself!
That's probably a sign I should stop.
Lol..

So.
Read this book if you want to read something about fairies.
...
I think that's it.
Kaythanks <3

The Dark and Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan: Review

I absolutely love how all of these books fit together <3
It just makes me want to read them all again.
I'm hoping this isn't the last one!
And if it is, damn. I wish there was another one i could read.
What an awesome ending.
I was sure Annah was going to die a couple times there..
But she didn't! cause she's awesome. :D

I'm so glad my dad got me started on this series.
At first I wasn't sure I'd like them,
Seeing as I hadn't really read any zombie books before.
But man, once i started I couldn't stop! hah.
The weird thing was, that at the end I was listening to nevershoutnever!
what an odd combination, zombies and christopher drew. C:

Annah was really awesome.
And the ending totally made sense.
I mean, I always kind of thought that there would be a puzzle piece.
That it would circle back to the first book.
I just forgot about Jacob. hah poor lil' guy..

Carrie Ryan never disappoints in this series,
And I think that everyone should read her books. :D
They're really awesome, and they'll have you addicted from the first page! (:
You'll be stuck on zombies forever!
So, yeah you should definitely read this.
For sure.

Check out my group! There are books to read :D

Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry: Review

Honestly, this book was alright.
I was disappointing that Jonah's story wasn't even related to this book,
Because I really wanted to know more about him.
On the other hand,
This was an alright book.
It showed how even if you're different and aren't good at the things that everyone is good at,
Like walking,
You can still make a big impression on people.

I wasn't able to relate to Kira in this book.
Sure, she has a gimp leg that she can't walk on,
But the people in the town still wanted her gone.
Even if she could sew, which I thought was a big idea.

So. Overall,
This book isn't really something I'd recommend.
It was good, But I just really wasn't feeling it.
I mean, sure.
The only reason I read it, was because I read The Giver,
And I was hoping it would be like that book.
The only thing the two had in common, was that both of their towns/cities were cut off from everything else.
The story kind of fell through.
I thought that something big an exciting would happen,
But no.
Just a long lost family member.
I mean, sure. That's a big deal.
But nothing was really that exciting in this book.
I might've put four stars, but trust me.
It wasn't because of the action in this book.

Streamline by Jennifer Lane: Review

I know I've been saying this a lot lately,
But I love this book.
I won it on a goodreads-first reads giveaway thing,
And I'm so glad I did!
What an awesome book. (:
So thanks for that, Jennifer Lane.
Another signed book for my collection.

Leo's dad is an abusive person.
He was in the navy, and in the long run, he had a rough life.
Not that it makes it alright, but it explains a lot.
He grew up differently, and it stressed him out.

Audrey's dad is in prison for murdering Cameron's dad.
He's a sweet guy, and no one ever thought that he could kill someone.
Even though he's an recovering alcoholic, and he's hit people before.

Leo and Audrey are swimmers, and they're perfectly in-sync.
They're the cutest couple ever.
I love them!
They might've made some bad choices, but I could totally relate.
We all do things we regret.

Overall, this was an awesome book!
I would say more about it,
But I'd probably ruin it.
I really think more people should know about this book.

It's an awesome break from paranormal.
So. That's all I'm going to say about that.
Kaythanks.

First thing.
Thanks to Nancy for letting my group read her book for the book of the month!
I really appreciate it.
Also, It's great that we got such an awesome book for our first read!

I really liked this book.
I haven't really read anything like this.
Think about Percy Jackson and the Olympians, mixed with a teenage girl's life.
EXCEPT WAY MORE EXCITING. hah

When I first saw this book, I wasn't really sure what it was going to be about.
I mean, I read the description and things like that,
But I still didn't expect it to be like this!
Also, I learned something!
Hah. Not that I didn't know about the greek gods and everything like that,
But I didn't know that Pandora was interesting. hah
I never really payed attention to them until this book.

Uhh I don't want to ruin anything for anyone because there are probably still people reading this! hah.
All I'm going to say is that there is a lot of action, and I really couldn't put it down.
I wish it was longer, but that's what the second book is for, right? (:

Check out my group! it's book crazy(;

Eden's Root by Rachel Fisher: Review

What an awesome book.
I know I say this alot,
But seriously.
It's unlike anything I've read before.
And then ending?
Oh man.
I just want there to be another chapter.
And that's what all books should be like. hah.

Based on a post-apocolyptic time, 2033,
All the plants have been GMO'd too many times,
And they're all starting to die before they even bear fruit.
A worldwide family is happening, and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it.
Well, Except the scientists.
Which is a good thing.

I've read a couple books like this, but this one had something special about it.
The plants gave you cancer, and people actually had to live in the wild.
I'm not really sure that I liked the fact that the main character was 13 at the beginning of the book,
But it showed how much she changed at the end when she was 16.
I really can't see any thirteen year old doing all of this..
But that's okay.
It's still awesome. hah.

Honestly, I thought that the ending was going to be different.
I didn't think that Eden would be the place that it was.
It reminded me of the City of Ember a little,
And that's okay. hah.

I don't know what else to say without spoiling it for other readers..
So I'm probably going to stop here. hah.
I like how the author circled back from the beginning, it was sweet.
I'm not going to say anything else! except,
You should really read this book. :D

Also, You should check out my group.(:

Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick: Review

First off,
This is the best series.
I love it.
I don't ever want it to end. hah.

Onto the review.
This was a good time to read this book,
Because it started off with Nora having amnesia.
Which was awesome for me, because I could barely remember when happened in the last one.
Not that I couldn't remember what it was about,
But I couldn't remember exact details.
So. That was a good thing.

Next,
I really love the characters in this book.
They're exciting, and they are never, ever boring.
Ever.
Never ever ever ever.
Trust me on this one.

This is the pace that I like my books at,
And Becca Fitzpatrick never disappoints me in this series.
I don't think I didn't love a single moment in this book.
Or any of the other books.
Which is awesome.
I can't get enough! hah.

Well, I think that's all I'm going to say about that.
So.
Please check out my group.

I'd really appreciate it!
